Introduction:

Sofie de Schutter specializes in all aspects of Immigration law. This includes requests for family reunification (under article 8 ECHR and EU law), requests for residence for independent entrepreneurs and asylum cases. Furthermore she represents clients in immigration detention and clients confronted with and Entry Ban for the EU and a pronouncement of undesirability.

Sofie studied Dutch and International Law at the University of Amsterdam, and studied International Law at the Université Pierre Mendes France in Grenoble, France. After her graduation she worked as a legal counsel at the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Services. In 2006 Sofie changed to working as an attorney-at-law. After working several years as attorney-at-law at Van Rossem advocaten and Van Appia van der Lee advocaten in Amsterdam she started a cooperation Annelien Berends en Marjon Peeters. This resulted in founding BdSP advocaten on 1 January 2018.

Sofie is a member of the Dutch specialist associations for immigration law: the Netherlands Association of Specialized Immigration Attorneys (SVMA) and the Stichting Migratierecht Nederland.
